Blaming the Jews for the Financial Crisis

The discussion between these two about a recent poll that found a lot of Americans blame Jewish people for the financial crisis had me puzzled. Yeah, a ton of the people in the financial sector are Jewish, but are enough people in this country ignorant enough to blame a race of people/a religious group for the crisis (30ish% of Democrats and 18% of Republicans)? That's pretty sad. I'm pretty sure it was greedy people, not people of any faith or creed, that caused the crisis.
