Minnesota: Last ditch barrier to Obama's SCOTUS pick?

This came in an Email from the DSCC:

The retirement of Supreme Court Justice David Souter has raised the stakes in Minnesota, according to a recent report in the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reported last week.

The newspaper quotes Kelly Shackelford, chief counsel for the ultra-conservative Liberty Legal Institute saying that the only thing that could stop President Obama's Supreme Court choice is "the Republicans having the ability to filibuster." And she says it like it's a good thing!

But if Al Franken were seated, Democrats would control 60 Senate seats and could potentially deny any Republican filibuster.

The extreme right wing is apoplectic at the thought of a new Supreme Court justice who does not kowtow to their every whim. They are recommitted to doing whatever it takes to block Obama's choice, even if that means denying millions of Minnesotans their fair representation in Congress.

It's time to give it up already.

It really bothers me that they will not seat Franken. Now, I have no problem with the Minnesota law that they should allow it to go through the court system. But, at this point, the Republicans are abusing this to keep Franken from being seated. I think it is really stupid and that the Republicans should just give this up.
