Shopping in Trobled Times: Coupons!




People, you do not understand the value of coupons... or at least I didn't until recently.

I have been clipping coupons the last month to save money, and boy did Brett and I save money.

In the past month, Brett and I have saved well over $100, I think close to $150. Yesterday alone we saved $42. And here is how:

Kroger had Tombstone Pizza 4/$10. Brett and I had two $1 off coupons. We got 4 Pizzas for $8, or $2/Pizza.
Kroger had Yogurt on sale for 20/$10. We had $1 off 6 coupons. We bought 20/$8.
We bought Hamburger Helper. We got .80cent off of three.


Now, I know what everyone is thinking "How is this at all political. Ok here is how, Everyone close your eyes. Now, if you are worried about the economy raise your hand. Ok, well this tip will help you survive.

Once you have the coupons, make sure you shop your local stores. Publix will have a better sale one week than Kroger and vice versa. Go to their websites and look at their weekly specials. Some tips for using Coupons.

Do not forget, Publix and Kroger will double your coupons up to 50 cents. In other words, your 35 cent coupon becomes 70 cents off. Your 50 cent coupons become a $1 off. This is capped, your 55 cent coupon is just a 55 cent coupon.
