Newt Bashes Limbaugh -- How Long Until He Apologizes?

The latest in the string of GOP leaders to get into a tussle with Rush Limbaugh is none other than Georgia's own Newt Gingrich:

Newt Gingrich blasted conservative radio show host Rush Limbaugh on "Meet the Press" Sunday, saying Limbaugh crossed the line when he publicly said he hoped President Barack Obama's administration would "fail."

"You've got to want the president to succeed," Gingrich said on the program.

"I don't think anyone should want the president to fail," the former Speaker of the House said in an obvious dig at Limbaugh.

...

Gingrich said Limbaugh's comments last week were "irrational" because any American citizen - no matter what their party affiliation - should hope for a strong government.

So, who wants to take bets on how long it takes Gingrich to capitulate and come running to Limbaugh's show to apologize? I bet the bookies are lining up on this one.

Gingrich might be trying to carve out a nitch of his own in the GOP and have his own loyal minions separate from Limbaugh. Maybe he's jealous of having the crazies in someone else's camp.
