Ed Schultz on single payer healthcare and the clout of HMO's over our Senate

He asks great questions. Why is it that we aren't getting single payer healthcare advocates to be a part of the discussion? The people arrested at this demonstration were doctors, lawyers, and nurses.

They were high-level professionals who were upset about how much clout the industry has to control how we do healthcare reform. As Ed mentions, the majority of the country supports a single payer system, and they are being completely excluded from the discussions in the Senate (though Dr. Himmelstein of Physicians for a National Healthcare Program was given the ability to speak before the House). It really is disturbing.

Kudos to Schutlz for bringing on one of the doctors who was arrested.
