Sen. Specter with a man whose political fate he will soon share.
A Research 2000 poll finds that 63% of Democratic voters can't commit to backing Specter, and former PA Governor Tom Ridge, widely considered the only viable GOP nominee, has chosen not to run.
It looks like the field is wide open to Democratic challengers now.
